An academic collaboration meeting between UNIMAP and Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya was held today. ITS is represented by Dr Maria Anityasari (Director of ITS Global Engagement), Dr Astria Nur Irfansyah (Senior Manager on International Partnership of ITS Global Engagement), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ketut Eddy Purnama (Dean Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (F-ELECTICS) and several other F-ELECTICS lecturers. While UNIMAP is represented by the Dean of PPKSE, Assoc. Prof. Dr Haziah Abdul Hamid, Deputy Dean Academic of PPKSE, Dr Mohamad Faridun Naim Tajuddin, Director Center for International Engagement UNIMAP, Assoc. Prof. Dr Tunku Salha Tunku Ahmad and Assoc. Prof. Dr Samila Mat Zali from PPKSE.
The purpose of today's meeting was to discuss the academic collaboration plans between UniMAP and ITS for the year 2020 and 2021. Among the collaborations agreed upon during the meeting were:
1. ITS Guest Lecture Series by Dr Dedet Candra Riawan (ITS) and Assoc. Prof. Dr Samila Mat Zali (UniMAP) for the title Renewable Energy in Developing Countries which will be held in October / November 2020 on an online platform in conjunction with ITS's 17th anniversary.
2. Connecting Classroom ITS-UniMAP for Renewable Energy System course to be conducted in the Semester 1 and 2 for 2020/2021 academic session which will be co-taught by Assoc. Prof. Dr Samila and Dr Dedet. This course will be taken by ITS and UniMAP students, whereby lectures will be conducted simultaneously at UniMAP and ITS using online platforms.
3. Cooperation for the Global Project based Learning (GPbL), a research collaborative program between ITS and UniMAP on solar photovoltaic (PV) related projects in Indonesia under Indonesia's Small Island Development Initiative (SIDI) program. The program is expected to start in March 2021.
This is the beginning of a collaboration between PPKSE and ITS and it is hoped that this collaboration will expand widely to more academic and research collaborations in the future.
