The School of Electrical Systems Engineering was established in 2002, and is now offering engineering and engineering technology study programmes listed below:

Currently, the School of Electrical Systems Engineering has about 60 active lecturers consisting of 3 associate professors, 34 senior lecturer and 23 lecturers. In addition to that, there are 19 academic staffs on study leave pursuing their PhD. Teaching and learning activities are supported by 2 teaching engineers, 10 technical assistants and 2 chargemans.
The School has 14 laboratories, as well as the use of facilities by the other engineering schools, the Teaching Factory and Engineering Centre. There are also other academic and support staffs from other engineering schools and centres that support the teaching and learning activities
