Introduction
This course is to provide an up to date knowledge and competency in Electrical Power Engineering. The course covers a wide range of electrical power engineering such as renewable energy, advance power analysis, advance drives, etc. The course also emphasized on research and practical training which is incorporated in the course structure.

Course Structure
For Full time candidates , the minimum year of graduation is 1 year or 2 semesters. The first Semester will start in January and finish in June. Semester 2 will start in July and finish in December. All semesters are about 18 weeks lecture including examination. Full time candidates will conduct their project dissertation parallel with the courses. For part time students, the course is structured such that the minimum year of graduation is 2 Years or 4 Semesters. The courses are distributed as follows:-
- 40 units (14 units is a Core subjects, 6 units is Elective subjects and 20 units is Dissertation)
Where the class will be conducted?
The classes will be conducted during weekend i.e. on Friday and Saturday for 3 or 4 hours (according to credit hour) for each course at Universiti Malaysia Perlis Campus. Some courses during weekdays.
Qualification
1) Candidate should have a qualification of B. Eng from university recognized by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education with CGPA > 2.5 or approved by university senate.
2) International students are required to have proficiency in written and spoken English in one of the following forms: a minimum TOEFL score of 550 or a minimum IELTS score Band 6; or equavalent. Candidates who do not possess English language proficiency are required to sit for the English Placement Test before commencing their studies at UniMAP.
